My Approach

I’m passionate about working with women of all ages who are affected by stress and anxiety and don’t have the tools they need to care for themselves.

There was a time in my life when I was anxious, running on empty and needed the skills to look after myself, but I had never learnt them. So, I burnt out (twice!).

Now, I love working with women in all stages of their lives. Those that are young, who want to gather life-long skills to manage their stress, so that anxiety no longer is a feature in their lives. And those who have perhaps spent many years running on empty, struggling to set personal boundaries and prioritise their own needs—and feeling guilty when they do.

No matter a woman’s age, this way of living affects all aspects of her life: well-being, relationships, work/career and parenting. But there are simple tools that we can use so it doesn’t have to be like this.

I work with women to help them lead their lives from an empowered place, as opposed to being controlled by stress and anxiety.

I help you understand your own stress response.

I work alongside you to help you understand how your body responds in stressful times because with that understanding comes the ability to influence it. This work allows you to have better health, more positive relationships, more meaning and purpose in your life. 

When we feel distressed/anxious, it is our autonomic nervous system (the fight/flight/freeze response) that has reacted. We can become dysregulated and working to regulate this system has a positive overall effect on us and therefore our lives. EFT is a tool that assists us to become regulated again. Until we address what is happening within our nervous system, it is very difficult for us to see things clearly and be able to plan and move forward.

I prioritise your safety and confidentiality.

I want you to feel safe, warm, comfortable, heard and understood. 

As an occupational therapist, I worked with a wide variety of clients who experienced all types of challenges, and I often entered into their homes and personal spaces. The most valuable gift I received from this work was learning to see past all ‘the stuff’ and straight to the person. This value of non-judgment is the foundation of my work.

I want you to feel like you can say anything in our sessions. I allow you to be as vulnerable as what feels comfortable for you, invite you to mix lightness into the heaviness and look forward to your next session.

I give you take-home tools.

I want you to be able to reduce your anxiety with tools that you can use at home. So that you don’t have to go and see somebody every time you feel stressed or anxious. You will learn how to use EFT to support yourself in day-to-day life. In my Stress & Anxiety Package, we will create a well-being plan that is highly individualised, as there is no prescription that will work for everybody.
